It's nearly concert day!  Thank you for all your hard work.  Those that were at rehearsal last night will know that we are not having an extra rehearsal on Thursday night.

Final concert arrangements:
10.00am A few helpers are required to set up the chairs and staging in St Mary's Church.
2.00pm Rehearsal starts promptly
7.15pm Meet in the Stafford Chapel (front right of church)
7.30pm Concert starts

The running order of the afternoon rehearsal is:

2pm - short warm-up
2.05 - Motets, first set (ie Hassler, Anerio, Rossini, Victoria)
2.30 - Thine Enchantment
2.40 - Motets, second set (ie Lassus, John IV of Portugal, Stravinsky, Viadana)
3.00 - Duruflé
3.30ish - BREAK
3.40ish - Duruflé
4.35ish - choir finish, and Martha/Dan/James/Steve practise the solo items

The running order of the concert is:

Hassler: Dixit Maria
Anerio (F.): Christus factus est
Rossini: O salutaris Hostia
Victoria: O quam gloriosum

Faure: Trois Melodies, op6 (baritone & piano)

Steven Kings: August 1 (mezzo & piano)
Steven Kings: Thine Enchantment (first performance) (choir & cello)
Steven Kings: August 10 (mezzo & piano)

Lassus: Adoramus te, Christe
John IV of Portugal: Crux fidelis
Stravinsky: Ave Maria
Viadana: Exsultate justi

INTERVAL

Durufle: Requiem

The dress code is as usual: black trousers or skirts with black tops that have long or 3/4 length sleeves for the ladies and dinner jacket, white shirt and black bow tie for the men.

Unfortunately, Thornbury Castle is no longer making their lawns available for car parking, so please allow time to park in the roads nearby in the afternoon and the evening.

Ramble and Meal on Monday 12 May at 6pm
If you want to come and have not told Mary yet, please do so asap.

For those who are not able to make the concert, we will see you again on Monday 8 September for the AGM at 7.30pm and first rehearsal of the Messiah at 8.00pm.  We have our Welcome Evening on Monday 15 September at 7.30pm and second rehearsal at 8.00pm.  The score we will be using is New Novello (Watkins Shaw edition).
