From September 2026, our new Director of Music is Gareth Dafydd Morris.
Gareth Dafydd Morris, studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music.
Career role highlights include Faust in Boito's Mefistofele and the title role in Donizetti's Roberto Devereux in Valladolid, Rodolfo La Bohème and Cavaradossi Tosca in the West End, various roles for Opera Holland Park and Grange Park Opera, Alfred Die Fledermaus and Camille The Merry Widow for Opera della Luna and Jenik The Bartered Bride for Kentish Opera.
In demand on the concert platform, Gareth performs throughout the UK and Europe all the major works, masses and requiems. Most notably at St John's Smith Square, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham's Symphony Hall, The Sage, St. David's Hall, Colston Hall, Brangwyn Hall, Rochester, Canterbury, Guildford, Bristol, Exeter, Brecon, Llandaff and Carlisle Cathedrals.
Gareth has also broadcast as a soloist with both BBC NOW and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4. Gareth is also the Director of Music of Tabernacle Morriston Choir.
